Take Two

March 4, 2013

Time it marches on.

Another Monday another examination of some of my favorite older cultural pieces.

– For every kid who grew up reacting to the movies, The Sandlot and Stand By Me in the same way others react to John Hughes  films, this 2011 Thought Catalog piece is dose of instant nostalgia. What we’d all do for friends like those.
– My very favorite description of the show Friends comes from TIME. “The show never pretended to be anything weightier than ‘We were on a break.’ But the well-hidden secret of this show was that it called itself Friends, and was really about family.”
Blue is truly one of the greatest relationship albums ever. So personal, but so relatable.
-Remembering Whitney Houston’s tragic life. ‘Didn’t she almost have it all?‘ by Rebecca Traister.
Twitter has a secret handshake.
-With so much nostalgia  let’s leave you with a This American Life episode that illustrates all the ways being a child is mysterious and fantastic.
